A Thank You To the First 90 Supporters
I hoped for a dozen of you, I got 90! That's more than...double... what I hoped for. I'm very bad at math.
When I started this journey I had a lot of self-doubt: Does anyone like stories like this? Would people want to take a journey with an untested author into the world of the Invisible Man, The Mysterious Island, and Dracula? Do people like spooky stories that aren’t too spooky? Would people demand edgy and spicy content or could I write this as an old-school all-ages novel as if from a hundred years ago?
And you have answered the questions by subscribing to this. All 90 of you. With barely ONE chapter to go on. And apparently Paranormal Dinner Club has 1,900 page views — which is amazing.
This is a near one man operation for now apart from my longsuffering editor Anna Parrish who does her best to wrangle my grammar into something vaguely presentable. So every subscriber really does mean so much to me. Every name I see come through, makes me feel honored you’d sign up to take this journey. And I feel the responsibility to make the journey worth your time.
I read this whole story originally to my 9 and 11 year old son. My first and toughest critics. If for no one else, this started as a story for them. They told me which parts were too boring (the part on the boat) and which parts were cool (the first monster attack). They are my best story consultants.
I recently asked my 11 year old son, “Do you think other people would like this story too?”
He thought about it for a moment then said, “Yes…if they like good stories.”
So if you’re here, thanks for liking good stories.
Onward.

P.S. And would you do me a huge favor? If you know of a friend that you think might like this project would you forward this along to them? I’d love to see a reader army 100 strong to give me feedback and help me shape this.
