Editor's Introduction from Dr. H.F. Cutter
A letter from our editor introducing the setting and story

EDITOR’S NOTE
What follows are the unpublished letters of my brother to me.
They are published without his consent and certainly against his wishes.
I do this for the following reasons:
Because the public deserves to know how the events that have only recently broken out into public view began. The world of the fantastic and terrifying has exploded onto the streets of Europe and everywhere false stories of how it began and why it began are running rampant in papers. They are all wrong. This will set the record straight.
Because the world does not know, but should know, my brother. He deserves to be known. Some will consider him a hero, others perhaps a villain. But his hand in these events is undeniable. That so large a figure has been hidden from public view is not right in the scope of history.
Because he may never get a fair trial in the courts if they’re (still) controlled by corrupt men. But he can have his case tried in public through the written page. And so he will.
I present these letters to me from my brother here largely without comment. They stand well enough on their own. I’d rather you draw your own conclusions about the events here.
My own personal thoughts and correspondence I’ve removed. They are not important or necessary. And for reasons that will become clear, I still require isolation and privacy.
I should mention one last reason for publication:
Brother, if you are reading this, know that I am grateful. And I hope you are well — wherever in the world you are now.
Last, do not attempt to trace this publication back to my location. I’ve taken steps to prevent it. Sensitive locations in the document are redacted as are any specific geographic references.

Don’t forget! For a limited time only as a bonus for early readers contribute a name to the story. Comment below with your suggestion.
I once had a pet beta that was yellow whose name was Noodles. He tragically died by suffocation. He got trapped under a shell and couldn’t come up for air. A fish that drowned, situational irony.
Here’s 3 names I’d love to see!
1. Richmond - in honor of my dad’s middle name
2. Mary Elizabeth - my mom and gma’s name
3. Nyxi - my dogs name that I created from 3 of my favorite things
